Best Chicken Manchurian Recipe

This is the best and easiest way to make Chicken Manchurian. You can make Chicken Manchurian with gravy or dry. Chicken Manchurian is basically a dish in which you take boneless chicken cut it in cubes or stripes, marinate it and them fry it. You can also make it a second method that is you shallow fry them directly without marinating. Then you make a spicy tangy sauce and add the chicken to it.
It is made in a variety of ways. Some people keep it a little gravy style while some make the sauce a bit dry and then toss the chicken in it. It is eaten with boiled rice or fried rice or can also be eaten with garlic rice.
Ingredients for Chicken Manchurian:
- Oil 3-4 tbsp
- Garlic 3 cloves
- Chicken 1 cup
- Onion 1 medium size
- Green onion 1
- Tomatoes paste 1/3 cup
- Capsicum 1/2 cup
- Ketchup 1/2 cup
- Soy sauce 1 tbsp
- Chili sauce 2 tbsp
- Crushed red chili 1 teaspoon
- Salt as required
- Black pepper 1 tbsp
- Red chili powder 1/2 teaspoon
- Water 1 cup
- Green chilli 1
- To thick: 2 tbsp cornflour/cornstarch + water till it becomes a paste.
Method To Make Chicken Manchurian
Step 1: Fry Garlic and Chicken
The first step is to add 2-3 tbsp of Oil in a pan. First add 3 cloves of chopped garlic and fry it until light brown. Then add a cup of boneless chicken or 1 boneless chicken breast which is cut in strips and fry it on low to medium flame till it is tender.

Then add the white part of green onions and fry it along with other ingredients.
Step 2: Add Tomato Paste along with other Ingredients
Now add 1/3 cup of tomato paste along with tomato ketchup, onion, green chillies chopped.
Then add Soy sauce 1 tbsp and Chili Sauce 2 tbsp.
Step 3: Add Spices to Chicken Manchurian
Now add salt 1 teaspoon ( add 1/2 teaspoon first because soy sauce is also salty) red chili powder 1/2 teaspoon, Crushed red chili 1 teaspoon and black pepper 1 tbsp.

Step 4: Add water and Capsicum
Now add 1 cup of water and 1/2 cup of capsicum. Cook until the sauce thickens. Keep the pan without lid and cook on medium flame.
Important: You can add corn flour slurry if you want it a little gravy. Just add 2 tbsp if Corn starch/Cornflour and add water in it till it becomes a slurry. Then add little by little and mix till you reach your desired consistency.

Serve it with rice and enjoy.
